In the last few days

We walked, we talked,

We opened our heart to understand

What is a father- daughter relationship?

Over a cup of coffee with breakfast

Your tears added to the seriousness

Of the issue. I know. I heard you

For that, I apologize.

The city is filled with monuments,

Greenery, stories of bravery and love

And I believe I came to the right place

To strengthen our bond.

Blood is not thicker than water

You said. I pondered on that.

Just because we are blood related,

It does not mean our relationship is special

And I agree again. I look at the trees,

The busy squirrel and the soothing

Fountains, looking for a way to make

A difference.

What I can say is this

I love you. I do care about you.

I do treasure our relationship.

Not just because we share some DNA

And yes, when the cherry trees

Will bloom again, I shall return

And continue our journey together.
